Minat - - - (Min ot')
"Wee' little people"
- Colonial eyumons resembling Dawv that immigrated to normal gravity worlds and prospered, resulting in a great reduction of strength and physical build, but not an increase in height.
The Minat are a peace-loving and mischievous Dawv offshoot which developed on lush worlds colonized by the Dawv. They have overcome their concern for resources and lost much of the physical bulk and tensile strength of Dawv physiology. The resulting race is almost a polar opposite of their former selves, respecting community, freedom, individualism, and kindness more than the capitalistic Dawv. Minat excel at the arts and craftsmanship passed on from the Dawv, but express a greater interest in sharing these arts.
This peaceful and passive nature has actually led to the near extermination of the Minat by other races. They are the universal victim of other species. This propensity of victimization has led the Minat to desire the freedom of the Nomadic lifestyle. However, some sense-of-possessiveness remains from their forbearers instilling a strong sense of home. Minat will fight to the death in defense of their home with a ferocity that rivals the most hardened Dawv. This is likely due to the range of size that Minat achieve, far smaller than half-Dawv in size - they are frequently called "Pixies", "Little People", and "Sprites" on some worlds. Often growing to adulthood at no more than 1 centimeter in height. Unnerving in this lack of physical strength is a frequncy to retain technology and quantum physics information essential to the design and development of the infamous quantum singularity reactors used to slaughter stars and fracture space-time. This makes the Minat the most dangerous of all cultures, as well as one of the hardest to locate due to the defensive applications of the manifold spatial manipulation technology inherent in cohesive use of QSR field properties.
Minat have been know to steal whole ships, cities, and even continents. Rumors of hidden Minat worlds pesist among the learned ancients. Despite this they tend to be relatively gentle and emotional, though prone to anger over seemingly slight acts of disrespect and a tendency to cause havoc to incite superstition and express their discontent in the absence of other beings. Due to their frailty, they normally attempt to avoid being seen by other species, leading to numerous rumors and myths of their good (and bad) deeds.
Likewise, they are known to walk through walls. Physical traps and locks pose little obstacle to them, like no other race but the Ethran. It is rumored they have a great dislike of cats, owls, and raccoons. Although accounts conflict in this area, and suggest something even more bizarre behind those superstitions.
It is said amongst the Minat, "There is only one cat, and his name is not Schrodinger." Apparently it has something to do with QSR technology, becuase it is inevitably the outcome of any such discussion with them on the subject, though the reason is not clear.
